My approach

I direct story-driven work. Comedy, documentary, and everything in between. The through-line is always character.

rec room

cinematic world-building

Rec Room hired me as a live-action director to create films using a virtual camera inside their virtual game world. Besides feeling like Neo in the Matrix, it was an incredibly fun and unique experience to use their world and technology as a backdrop for storytelling.

My role was to write, storyboard, direct and edit these pieces to promote their new original games.

The Rec Room production team was instrumental in helping with virtual camera rigs and operation, add’l pre-production, vfx, camera and story / lore consulting.

I wrote, storyboarded and directed a fully CGI film, working remotely with a VFX team in South America. The lab environment was built in-game, so the entire film had to be created within that space.

We went through many iterations of character animation, text effects, pacing and tone in order to get the perfect storytelling for the tone we were going for. We even re-lit the environment for maximum dramatic effect and to serve the story.

ze juice bar

a very edgy concept - especially in this climate- but believe it or not, this was written for the CBS Diversity Showcase. It was the ‘dark horse’ sketch that everyone talked about, but unfortunately it couldn’t make it to stage for obvious reasons. So, my writing partner and I decided to make a video sketch of it. Don’t worry - we are both Jewish.

I was hired by a government communications company to create an entertaining and instructional video for their employees highlighting issues like: workplace harassment, IP theft, disregarding company protocol, etc.

My solution was to create this short film to help supplement their training.

I call it: ‘entertrainment’
